Red Hot

Now that was a red hot dinner! In more than one sense.
With friends in Northampton we visited the Red Hot World Buffet and Bar in Sixfields, Northampton.
The restaurant is unusual in that it serves a range of foods from various parts of the world in a buffet style. Offerings include starters and main courses from many parts of the world including Chinese, Japanese, India, Mexican and Italian and more, although the Chinese and Indian flavours seemed to dominate.
Now this is one eatery which needs another visit. Even by limiting each helping to very small sizes I simply could not eat more, and didn't sample anything close to all of the dishes. Tables are set with the normal starter, main and dessert cutlery, but waiters will quickly bring more. This lets you eat small quantities and keep going back to sample more, without mixing the flavours. Perhaps it is a British thing, but many people seemed to load the plates up and then miss out on the "red hot" flavours available.
Unfortunately it was a warm night, and the problem of local water contamination had just been announced, so ice was in short supply, and the fridges could not keep up with cold bottled drinks. Really that was not the fault of the restaurant. What did, however need attantion was the Ladies loo. The Ladies in our party found it not very pleasant and whipped across to Macdonalds, next door.
And the bill? Just short of £15 each, which included a round of drinks. In our view, excellent value for a dinner out.
The Red Hot World Buffet in Northampton - well worth a visit - see you there!
